IDI - Intercultural Development Inventory

IDI® is an internationally validated theory-based assessment of intercultural competence. It is designed to measure individual's or group's status and progression in the intercultural development continuum. This allows for both individuals and organizations to develop their cultural competence and the supporting skills or processes. In MOK, we want to acknowledge that intercultural competence is something that can be developed, and it evolves over an extended period. While most cultural competency measuring tools focus on certain characteristics of a person, IDI offers a way to further develop skills and thinking to achieve set goals.
IDI is the leading cross-cultural competence assessment tool used internationally and validated to apply across cultures. The tool is based on the Developmental Model of intercultural Sensitivity research by Milton Bennett.

MOK uses IDI due to its combination of strong theoretical background and pragmatic results. The developmental nature of building intercultural competence is considered: all IDI participants get an actionable personal Intercultural Competence development plan.
