SPORTS CLUBS FOR CHILDREN 2 TO 6 YEARS OF AGE

Helsingin NMKY's sports clubs offer children aged 6 months to 6 years the opportunity to move, play and learn new skills in a safe and encouraging environment. The groups emphasize the joy of movement, positive experiences, and warm, supportive interaction with each child.

All groups focus on developing basic motor skills, moving in a versatile way and exploring different pieces of equipment under the guidance of experienced instructors.

Spring 2026 Groups

Naperot (6 months – 1.5 years)

New in spring 2026! A group for babies and toddlers together with their parent. Sessions include playful movement, simple exercises, music, rhymes and exploration with different equipment.

Parent–Child Groups (approx. 2–4 years)

Children move together with their own adult. These groups focus on developing fundamental motor skills through play, movement tracks and simple games.
The recommended age is primarily 2–3 years, but the Monday morning group also welcomes younger children (from approx. 1.5 years) who are able to stand with support.

Taaperot / Toddlers (3–4 years)

The first independent group where children participate without a parent. Sessions focus on playful movement, balance, jumping, throwing, coordination and other basic motor skills.

Taiturit / Movers (4–6 years)

A group for children who already move more independently and enjoy new challenges. Activities include age-appropriate skill development, coordination, movement confidence and group interaction.
