DO YOU NEED SUPPORT IN THE TRANSITION TO UPPER SECONDARY EDUCATION?
Ninu, or transition phase youth work, provides support to 9th-graders of comprehensive school in moving to upper secondary education. The activities offer the young person personal support from their own staff mentor. The staff mentors get to know the youngsters in the 9th grade, and it is possible for them to act as the youth’s support person until the fall of upper secondary education.
The Ninu activity of Helsinki YMCA organises small group activities in cooperation with the staff of the school, for example. In small group activities, together with the youngsters, we can think about issues related to their own future. Employees can also support the youth in the context of leisure, for example, to find meaningful things to do. The activity is voluntary. In our activities, we take advantage of physical activity and culture, among other things.
